Brianne Mitchell, 41, of Clementon, and Krystal Turner, 38, of Blackwood, are both facing charges following the fight that broke out Wednesday, March 20, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Gloucester Township police said.

Mitchell, Turner, and two students were actively fighting in the front vestibule of the school when the Gloucester Township Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) and police officers responded, authorities said.

Mitchell threw a small garden planter pot, striking an officer and Turner, authorities said. Turner scratched the officer as he intervened to break up the fight, causing a minor injury, police said.

An investigation found both parents instigated the fight when one of the juveniles suddenly assaulted the other, police said. It turned into a fight between the four of them, according to authorities.

The fight was broken up by the SRO and staff prior to the arrival of additional officers.

Both adults and one officer suffered minor injuries during the fight and were treated by EMS at the scene.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department's Juvenile and Family Services Bureau.

Charges are pending against both juveniles who are not being identified.

Brianne Mitchell, 41, of Clementon, was charged with Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (4th Degree), Aggravated Assault (3rd Degree), and Simple Assault (Disorderly Persons Offense).

Krystal Turner, 38, of Blackwood, was charged with Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (3rd Degree) and Disorderly Conduct (Petty Disorderly Persons Offense).
